Welcome

Welcome to evergreen... we try hard to make the heart of this community be relationship. Our relationships with one another and our relationship with God. We invite everyone, regardless of where they might be at spiritually to come and be a part of evergreen, seek God with us, and see if this life of following Jesus isn't for them as well. No promises of an easy road... just people to walk it with you.

How are spiritual sojourners to cope with the constant change? Many are beginning to explore the ancient Christian spiritual practices that have been in use for centuries, everything from fixed-hour prayer to fasting to sincere observance of the Sabbath. What is causing this hunger for deeper spirituality?

Brian McLaren guides us on this quest for an explanation of these spiritual practices, many of which go all the way back to Abraham and the establishment of Israel. In the midst of contemporary Christianity, we discover the beauty of these ancient disciplines and the transformation through Christ that each can provide.

Current Series

Come join us as we work through a series on the New Testament book of 1 Corinthians... This one has everything- fighting, sex, drunkeness... kind of like an episode of Cops, but in the Bible.

This Sunday at 10am @ the Lucky Lab Pub on NW Quimby and also the Lucky Lab Pub on Hawthorne. Childcare is provided and everyone is welcome.

New Folks Homegroup

New to Evergreen?
Starting Sunday, July 13th continuing on Sundays through July 27th. We'll meet at the Lucky Lab in Multnomah Village (map here) at 5:30 to discuss the story of Evergreen, how we came to value what we value, and to hear your story.
We really care about everyone who would consider themselves to be 'in' at Evergreen to know our history, and to recognize that when someone new hangs with us it makes us different. We love to see the interaction of 'our' story with 'your' story, and the part where those join is often very meaningful, that is where real Christian community is born.
We'll hang together for a little over and hour, eating pizza, enjoying the labs delicious beverages, and telling our stories. If you've hung out at churches before this is probably the closest thing to a 'new members class' that we will ever get to, in case you were wondering... Let's blow stuff up!

Evergreen's 4th of July Party will be at Gregory Annis' house in Multnomah Village. To keep up on the info go here...

Aug 3rd- Baptism! No Lab!

Evergreen's worship gathering on August 3rd will be at the Goff's house in SW PDX. We won't be meeting at all at either Lucky Lab that morning (either Quimby or Hawthorne) but will gather as one community for a combined worship gathering and baptism.

We'll have the regular stuff for kids, worship together out on the lawn, head down to the creek for the baptism and then do a community dinner/lunch together.
Please come and plan to make a day of it, reconnecting with one another, making new friends, and most of all worshiping God together and baptizing together anyone who wants to take this important step!

We'll need some things to help make this happen... more on that in a bit- watch here for details.
But for now, go mark those calendars!
