The next Emergent Facial Hair Style...
Okay...
So after my post on the new Stryper album, and the resulting question ("Is the soul patch totally over?"), I was informed by Vaughn that yes, the soul patch is on the way out.
Damn. (whoops... and now I'm not only behind the times. I'm also definitely going to hell.)
Okay. So here I am... post goatee, hanging on to the fading soul patch...
Am I ready to face what's next?
What could it be? We should seriously devote the next issue of Emerging Pastor to this.
What is the emerging facial hair style for hipster-doofus pastors such as myself...
There is of course, the Scott Savol (also known as the Everlast). The Scott Savol is a kind of modified Abe Lincoln.

It's really just a thin line down and around your chin.
Maybe I could do this.
Of course, I'd have to get a coffee can muffler, and you know what that would make me...
I could go with the modified, super-chin strap. This is kind of a NW/Portland thing. It's really just the chin strap beard allowed to grow out and get a little wild. Also known as the Amish.

I don't know if we'll be bringing back the plain ol' 'stache
There are just too many issues...

But perhaps... I think this may be a long shot, but man- wouldn't it be cool if at the next Emergent convention, 80% of the guys (and whatever percentage of the gals that cared to) were sporting these bad boys?

This is the John Waters. It's basically the chin strap, moved up to the upper lip. Pencil thin and very cutting edge- so retro, it's hip. It's downright Ancient/Future... Maybe this should be the next Emergent Facial Style.
Or maybe... there's always... dare I say it... The AJ?

And can I just say- I know you can find anything and everything on the internet... But I gotta tell ya... a whole forum/boards devoted to guys talking about their beards? That's just creepy, man...
(And now a word from our sponsor!
If you want a really good shave, try an old-fashioned
straight razor or get a
luxury shaving kit. Nothing works up a lather as well as a shaving brush.
Also, don't forget to use proper shaving techniques to reduce irritation.)
