blahg...

I've been feeling a bit blah the last couple of days... I have a ton to do and am not feeling very motivated to do it. Mornings have kind of sucked wind, devotionally that is.
I did actually do something I have never done before today, though... I went running this morning. I've been working out for more than a year now, but man, if it's not on a machine that does at least 50% of the work for me, I want nothing of it :)

Anyway, I was up at 4:30am... reading jive, helping out Andrew, trying to get motivated to... not sure what.

Most likely this comes from the fact that tomorrow is my 36th birthday. Why would this one put me in a more existential-angsty mood than, say, 34 or 35? Maybe because It represents the LONG SLOW SLIDE DOWN TO THE GRAVE?!?!

Nah...

Anyway, I'm getting older (not old... just older). And by the way, we're due to have our second child this coming May.

sorry.. the "announcing" has come in dribs and drabs... I wanted to wait, but Amy had already started talking with a lot of female friends about "trying" so as they asked, she told... so some people knew, others didn't...
It seemed like with the move to the Lab and the hurricane we had other jive to talk about on sundays during announcements...

anyway... crappy way to break some great news, I know... :)

Happy birthday!

You know, there's only one alternative to getting older. :)

Congratulations on the new baby!

Congradulations Bob! Two things are usually true with the second child: they are vastly different than the first, and "free time" gets eaten away to almost nothing when two are at home vs one. Although if you're waking up early, that's the best way to spend time by yourself.

That said, it's a great joy to watch them grow and do the dirty work [wiping butts] that has a later payoff [being an integral part of their formation].

I'm truly happy for you, man.
