PMS...

The Pastors Monday Syndrome has come early this week... basically on my way home from the gathering today.
Did you ever feel like you just fouled one off?

Here's the thing- it's so much more work to get people involved- doing the welcome, doing the blessing, leading the reading of the psalm, making prayer stations, etc...

It's just easier to do it all myself.

But I hate it when I do it all myself.

That is, I hate it after...

It's like eating onion rings... they taste so good, and you never know when your next one is going to be too much... You only know when the one you ate was one too many. Sometimes I feel that way about Sundays- too much of meeee talking.
This is one of the challenges with taking Scripture in larger than bite-sized chunks, and trying to preach the connections between the stories and their meanings (for instance- what does Jesus healing a leper, forgiving the man lowered through the roof and calling Levi have to do with Jesus telling Peter he'll make them fishers of people? Well, traditionally, if you preach each one seperately, not a whole lot. But taken together...)

Maybe I should just embrace the M.D. model and tell people- It's gonna be me talking for a hour straight and if you complain I'll make it an hour and a half!

No... that doesn't sound quite right...

lotsa new faces today, but I didn't see a ton of people connecting with the newer folks (c'mon guys!!)...

ugh. Maybe I just need a nap. Jack woke us up a lot last night...

Yeah. Maybe I just need a nap.

Hi Bob,
My husband and I were very blessed by the gathering. For us the amount of dialogue was just perfect but then it was all new to us. I loved the way the passage flowed; I had never heard those passages taught togehter and it really did bring a new light on it. I know we are kind of an overwhelming bunch, 2 adults and 3 kids and all but we felt welcomed. We would love to come visit again. I think you have something unique and wonderful. I so want your community to succeed whatever "succeed" looks like because it would be such a source of hope. A hope in community and a hope in Christ in community. I love the vision of the Emergent Church movement. I enjoyed CODA but I love what you are doing at Evergreen. Again I loved visiting you guys and look forward to coming again soon! I have some questions and thoughts but I will post those on the forum later.
Thanks!
Tina
